file sizes in OSX and Imageready

I have a question regarding file sizes. When I optimize a file to get down to say... less than 15k in Imageready, the .gif file that is generated is actually showing up in the finder info as 16k but imageready shows it at around 14K. Is this a result of the OSX rounding off the data to nearest memory block size. I knew this was sorf of an issue on previous mac systems in which the smallest file you could have was 4k because of the data chunks used for storing the info. So is this still the case and finder is rounding off to nearest multiple of 4? Any info on this would be greatily appreciated.

I have just started building web banners for my newspaper's web site and we were instructed to keep them under 15k but I have been irritated when my less than 15k files in Imageready show up as 16k files on the desktop.

This still seems to be an issue. If you get info on the file though it should give you the actual file size that OSX is seeing.

thanks... I guess I just go by the reading in Imageready. My web people can just deal and get over the fact it might say 16k
