it is common practice to "import protect" swf files. that is to prevent people from (unwanted) editing or "borrowing" bits and pieces... try to open the swf in flash and you will find out. otherwise - get in touch with the original designers. ...

I mean, are you just trying to steal someone elses design, or do you have permission to remove the company name and add your own? Hey Dorian - I thought it was the weekend when I saw you posted and had to check my calendar |

If you have bought/aquired the site from a template provider then I would have thought that you should be able to ge the .fla file which is effectively the make-up of the flash movie this is the exported to give you the .swf. Imagine a photoshop file (.psd) with all your layers / text / graphics etc, that would be your .fla - then save it as a gif that would be the equivalent of your .swf file. If you can get hold of the .fla from the provider you will of course need some software (Flash) to be able to open the actual file and change the elements. Be warned, Flash isn't straight forward. feel the heat.
