maybe but i'd like to be able to control it, which i can't at the moment.

take out the doctype and it dissapears. opera 7 (don't ask why i even had it open) doesn't display a gap.

the gaps coming from the header image, not the list.

put this
Code:
img { display: block; }

All images are inline as default which means they have a slight gap underneath.

I have just found this thread after looking to solve the same problem. Where do I need to put the code you mentioned?

Even if you aren't, we can be flexible.

I'm glad there can be flexability.

I realise that moving away from tables is a good move and intend to develop my skills, however I really need to fix this gap problem and am very stuck.

Any help would be superb.

when viewed on PC Internet Explorer there is a gap between the nav and the main image. They should be touching.

Hope you can help.
