Illustrator>preferences>smart guides & slices

Then set 'angles' to 30 degrees. Then apple+U to use the smart guides. That'll help you align everything. You can draw 30 degree lines and View>Guides>Make Guides to make a grid.

But yes, this could have been easily googled.
