colours

I have a tab with the colour values of...

background-color: #814F2D;
border-left: #9F653F;
border- top: #9F653F;
border-right: #5A361F;

If I want to make another tab with the background colour #ff6600, is there a quick and easy way of working out the equivalent hex values for the borders so that each tabs shading matches, or is it just a case of trial and error?

Hope that makes sense!

TIA

I think its a case of trial and error - color wheel progs can only give you complimentary colours etc

(someone correct me if im wrong )

I think Oli's right. If there is a way, I doubt it'll be 'quick and easy'.

These are worth knowing about...

I had some crazy idea of converting the hex to decimal then finding the difference, converting it back and...yeah, it wouldn't have been quick and easy, if even possible.

I'm putting it down to the heat!

Cheers for the help. J.
