Any help for a fumbling amateur?

Hi there!

First post, and first thread - I hope somebody can help me out!

I'm very much a "trial and error" type of person when it comes to web design. I'm using a partial template with a few personal tweaks. However, I've noticed that even in the original template, there is an issue with how the page looks when the browser window is shrunk.

If you go to there's a work-in-progress of my new site.

Now, if anyone could help me solve the following two problems, I'd be eternally grateful!

First of all, I can't seem to find a way to make the top banner image (logo etc) stay in the same place in relation to the menu bar and content. For example, if you shrink the browser window from right to left, you'll notice the image stays where it is while the menu etc moves position. Is there a simple tag I'm missing here?

Also (thanks for bearing with me if you've made it this far!):

If you shrink the browser window until you get a horizontal scroll bar, you'll notice that when the scroll bar is moved to the right there is a big chunk of missing image in the header and menu bar.

Is there an obvious way of fixing this?

I've attached my CSS file too if anyone would be so kind as to take a look and offer a suggestion!

Cheers

Paul

The problem here is your header image.. as it is a single image, you will not be able to do what you want to do. What you should do is simply split up the header into 2 images: The header gradient, and the logo.

Using CSS, you can simply set the title image to float:right, and give it a margin-right value to sit where you desire it...

as a suggestion though, the data under the header in the black box should not be image, it should be text.

Thanks for the input mate - I'll give it a try. Usually that involves mucking around with the CSS until it finally does what I want!
