Is it difficult and how long would it take to convert the attached shapes from .gif to .ai?

To redraw them in Illustrator, I would think it would take a few hours. I would like then as Vector Art

if your lazy use the live trace option or draw a new object using the path tool and apply a gradient shouldn't take you no more than a few mins!
