Appleworks spreadsheet help

I don't have any experience using this program so dont have a clue what Im doing really.

Basically I have a table with hundreds of rows and all I want to do is re-order the rows.

Thing is when I select a row and use the cursor to drag it to it's new position it deletes the information in the row where I want to put it, instead of shifting it up or something.

Its doing my nut in now, can anyone shed any light on this

Rows are generally re-ordered by selecting all the rows you want to order and applying some kind of formula. If it's as simple as alphanumerical ordering, there's probably a button to do it.
