Backup
I have a portable hard drive for backing up my system. I'm having problems backing up my system this month by experiencing really slow copying speeds. When I copy a couple of gig, it is fine, and copies across from my computer to portable hard drive at a nice speed (about 5MB per second). I've just initiated my system to be copied across (about 100GB), and it is going at a rate of about 500KB per second. At this rate I will be here for days. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a reason it is going so slow. Thanks decent web hosting - www.balue.com

i find stuff slows down to a crawl when you copy loads of small files... for instance, a large collection of fonts. a big file of the same total size as all the fonts seems to copy nice and quick. don't know why.. it just does.
