Problem with file thumbnails rendering in Win XP x64

Hi. Does anyone else has problem viewing file thumbnails in XP x64? it seems this OS has problems showing file thumbnails. I only can see thumbs of jpg, tiff, gif and some video formats, but not of ai, psd, pdf, and all adobe...which are the ones that really interest me.

This really sucks because it seems to be aftecting thumbs rendering in Adobe Bridge too. Ive been googling these but have not found a satisfying solution.

Has anyone gone through this?

I didn't know XP could do thumbs for those...can it?

Like OS X, Vista does thumbs for Adobe formats.

I'm on XP x64, and cant see thumbnails for .psd files. Even though its called XP x64, its actually a modified version of Server 2003 x64 made to look like XP. If your PC can run Vista x64, upgrade to that.

It doesn't matter to me anyway - I don't use Thumbnail or Tile views - Detail view. Always.

ditto, with file extensions showing... the default view is useless.

Indeed I think that too, thats why it hasnt bothered me all this time. But Im a "visual" person so it would be cool to have thumbnails.

Ive been thinking on upgrading to Vista, but Ive heard thats its unstable and has many bugs, is it true?

I havent tested it yet.

I've had far more problems with OS X 10.5.2 Leopard on my Mac at work than with Vista on my Dell at home.

I'm as shocked as you are.
