How to allow clients to update specific pages

Can anyone make recommendations on a solution - low tech and inexpensive - that will allow my clients to update certain pages on their websites.

Thanks,

Use a CMS (Content Management System). There are several free ones out there. Personally I use WordPress for relatively simple sites.

Joomla and Drupal also get a lot of recommendations - haven't used either yet myself though.

Problem with Wordpress etc is you then need to learn how to theme the CMS. You'd be better going with something like CutePHP.

Cool. I've never seen CutePHP before. How does it compare to Wordpress with regard to difficulty of implementation? I had a project a while ago that would have greatly benefited from something like that.

I've used Joomla before. It's relatively easy to set up and use.

You can specify different priviliges for certain member groups, which would suit your needs.

for simple sites i'd easily pick textpattern over clunky, anti-php5 wordpress.

Using Joomla and setting your users up as EDITORS will allow them to edit only the content that they have created. The learning curve as a bit rough @ first, and templating can be a pain.
