i don't know much about all this.. but

text encoding going funny?? maybe.

perhaps look at the encoding meta tag - should look something like this:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

??

the encoding meta tag looks like this...

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">

And the &bull; thing just appeared in the code the same way &amp; did when I typed a bullet point.

i'm unclear on something...

ampersands *should* look like &amp; in the actual code. or are you saying you actually see '&amp;' when you're viewing the file in a browser?

i think "charset=ISO-8859-1" is a windows specific character set, change it to "charset=UTF-8" and see what happens ...

Cheers for the help guys,
Anxious I only have a little bit of text and Im just typing it out and changinging it at the properties at the bottom to "Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"
IBLASTOFF when Im viewing the file the text looks fine in all 3 browsers on my mac but when I take it over to the pc it reads '&amp;' instead of '&'.
Weldo to change that character set do I just type UTF-8 into the code?

As Do Gooder mentioned, change it to this: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
