everytime i try and open a file using file > open , the programme freezes. this is happening in firefox, dreamweaver, photoshop and illustrator so far regardless of what file im trying to open. For some reason its fine if i go file > open recent files, or just double click on a file in finder.

anyone had this problem before??

am using mac osx version 10.4.11.

using CS3 for all abobe and most recent version of firefox.

aaaah its doing my head in...

Try trashing the finder preferences if it's happening in lots of different apps? (They will be recreated as defaults when you next boot.) Run disk utility and check your HD for errors too.

problem seems to be fixed. for anyone else that encounters same issue i did as jonomarshall said ^^ , and also did a software update along with an adobe update. Cheers jono!
