Template Fitting.

As you can tell by my name. I am relatively new to web-design. I just have a question about one thing. How do you make it to where the template will fit the browser.

For example, I have this:

---------------------------------------------
HEADERHEADERHEADERHEADERHEADER ******
CONTENTCONTENTCONTENTCONTENT
CONTENTCONTENTCONTENTCONTENT
CONTENTCONTENTCONTENTCONTENT
CONTENTCONTENTCONTENTCONTENT
FOOTERFOOTERFOOTERFOOTERFOOTER
---------------------------------------------

Say the dashes; are the boundries, the headers; represents the header or logo, the content; represents the content area, and the footer; represents the footer or logo.

How would I get the Header to extend all the way to the boundrie without activating the scrolls bars?

Also I am sorry for the poor example I tried to post a screenshot but it would not allow me to.

The header shouldn't be forcing a scrollbar, unless there's a very long image or you're explicitly specifying a length greater than the width of your browser.

Posting examples of your template and code would be helpful.
