Download details: Virtual PC 2007 Microsoft Virtual PC, which runs on XP, 2000, and Vista, has been free for a year and a half. Don't bother supporting any IE less than 6. The user base is so small and the effort is so great that it's not worth it. At work, I run a medium sized corporate site with a pretty conservative user-base (military, government, etc) that gets thousands of visitors per month. It gets around 3-5% visitors on IE < 6. I don't bother catering to them. |

Fairy muff... bear in mind that you can get an old spunker such as this on eBay for twenty odd quid tho. (or probably less for even older kit - find something nearby and you can pick it up and save delivery costs.) Throw in a cheapo kvm or a crappy old keyboard/monitor/mouse and you're set for well under a bullseye. Since the only purpose is seeing how things render in different browser versions you don't need much power at all. |
