I've finished developing a site at the minute which has a search form using GET. For search engine purposes i need clean urls. I have 6 different fields

i.e.

search.php?criteria=BLAH&criteria=BLAH&criteria=BL AH&criteria=BLAH&

I also have articles via articles.php?id=2

I've seen clean urls used before, but never done it myself. I've tried some tutorials using .htaccess but they don't seem to work.

Does your web server run apache or lighttpd?

Can't this be done via mod rewrite? Or am I think about something completely different.

yes, it is done using mod_rewrite (through a .htaccess file)
but 2dfruit said that tutorials didn't work, so i was making sure that he had a server that supports mod_rewrite.

Yeah weedwhacker I was using the mod_rewrite method. It's running on an apache server. I'm gonna try it on a different site.
