Quicktime movies

Does anyone know how the "Click Here To Play" screen found on some QT movies is created.

The idea being that the movie doesn't load & play straight away, the user has to click to run it.

Have you checked out the tutorials on the Apple site?
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tools_tips/tutorials/
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tools...streaming.html

Structurally, I think it might simply be a case of having a single-frame movie with a url embedded (see href tracks and flash tracks) that directs the player to the url of the full movie (streamed or otherwise).
The actual movie simply replaces the 'click to play' page in the player window.

Alt: It might simply be a feature of streamed QT content.

Thanks, will investigate.

I've just noticed QT Pro gives me the option of Eporting "Movie to QuickTime Media Link" - could be along the right lines, if not I might well go with flash.

i'm pretty sure it'll be a qt option. there is of course all the usual object/embed tags which come into play:

<PARAM NAME="autoplay" VALUE="true">

so watch out for them too.

Good thinking that Brown

Lucid: I might well do that as well, but I actually meant, make the "Click Here To Play" part in Flash and export from Flash as a QT movie.
