Testing my website locally ?
Hi all. I have just joined the board in the hope of resolving a problem that has plagued me for over a week now ! I have been playing around with with my old Website and IIS 6 again just to see if I can view my website on my local network (may eventually host it ussing Dynamic DNS once I get that lurvly HP MediaSmart Server) and although it looks like I have it all set up correctly in IIS I cannot view the site using the localhost in the web browser. Any sites that may offer baby-steps for this. I've not set up a website for two years now and i've either completly lost it or there is just one thing i've not set correctly that is completly throwing me off !! Cheers, Mitch.... |

Cheers for the replies guys. I don't think it is Firewalled. I mean it should not be. I am using a DLink DI-624 router and I have opened/Forwarded port 80 so unless there is other settings I have missed that I do not know about please advise. I also checked Windows Firewall too so the problem should not be from theer either. I am not sure about loopback, I did try to access the site using the Internal IP of the machine the Site/IIS sits on and no joy there either. This really has me stumped so any help would be great ! Thanks again, Mitch... |
