image slicing

hello everyone

i have designed my web page in photoshop and after dividing the image into various slices, i saved it for web. page is looking perfect. i have uploaded my page to my web server. now when i browse for my page, all slices appear randomly on page that looks awkward .. i want all slices appear on the page together giving it a one full image feeling ..

i also tried to preload my images (i know its a bad idea though n can increase the page load time) but i want to achieve a smooth page loading n can compromise on load time a bit .. dreamweaver creates this function for me .. it seems to work fine for rollover images but when i add all image slices into it, nothing satisfactory happens

anyone can help me out with that plzzzzzzzzzz
thanks

Hmm. I think you might need to learn some xhtml coding...

thanks mx for your quick response i have read that basically the code is same for both xtml and html. the only difference is that there are more rules that you must follow in xhtml and nothing else. if there is something i m missing and can b helpful for my sliced layout, plss temme.
i also tried to edit my psd in image ready and saved it as optimized one. it generated an xhtml for me along with css. someone told me that css saves page load time an good for sliced images n also that i shouldnt b using table layout for page. but that xhtml is working the same slow way .. after reading few reviews of generating css with image ready, i came to know people r not really very happy with image ready css code as page needs to incorporate so many div tags thats not a good approach .. also, positioning of slices is absolute .. i m not good with css
if someone having a good experience of page load time with css for sliced layout then plss share ..'m ready to learn it if it does what i want
thanks

The problem here isn't css coding, the problem is your css coding. XHTML (or HTML 4) combined with CSS load quite fast and smoothly when done right.

The reason that MX said what he did is because if you know how to use xhtml and css properly, you dont need to slice images.
