rather dull subject, but i've just moved into a new office with lotsa light. too much really, since there's silly amounts of reflection on my monitor screen.

any tips out there on how to reduce this?

good pair of think curtaind and face ur monitor away from the window...apart from that there ain't much you can do. I found anti glare screens desaturate on-screen colours.

are you working on a decent monitor?TFT's have a matte surface as far as I remember...

besides, if you are a designer - you should always fight for your right to be in a 'dark' corner I always complained (backed up with reasonable arguments!) to my previous boss... they usually care

you could also get anti-glare screen for your monitor - but it will darken all the colours slightly - and they are expenssive from 17" and up.

might be a silly suggestion... but you could also surround yourself with dark-ish posters - decorate the walls with something that would kill the light...

If you can, raise your monitor up and then angle it very slightly downwards - it'll cut out a lot of the direct reflections from ceiling lights.

If you have a crt pc style monitor they usually sit low on the desk and so need to be angled upwards slightly causing major reflections - Apple studio displays (amongst others) suffer less as they have raised stands.

Yep, that angle suggestion works for me too. Raising the monitor also improves my posture considerably!
