illustrator help- thin line between colours

Hi,

I am having problems re-creating a logo, and I have had this same problem a few other times as well... I'm sure the answer is simple

When I am working with a solid red, for example, and line this up overlapping or touching a solid black, I get a really thin grey line where the colours touch.

I am working in illustrator cs3.

Is the line still there if you print the design? Does the line get thicker if you zoom in to it on your monitor?

Send a message via MSN to hawken
does it appear at all zoom levels?

try zooming in and out, sometimes thin lines appear between neighboring objects but it's only a fault in the rendering engine not the actual vectors.

Thanks everyone who has had something worthwhile to add (nini, thanks for wasting your time)... I have this problem at ALL zoom levels. I have also exported as a JPEG and is still apparent. I'll keep having a play around though =)

apologies.. i was a little hungover on Friday!

Try looking at the .ai in Adobe Freehand, you have to save as lower version of CS. Or you could try CS2 if you had it. Maybe you could export from one of those in this instance.
