I use office 2000 and when I create my first page on notepad and save as "MYPAGE.HTML" to the desktop, the folder/file bear no html or Internet explorer icon but displayed as a notepad file.

Every time I want to view it I must say open with.

In the file name of the notepad before saving is "txt" and save as type "text document"

What could be wrong.

Please help.

just in case you are a genuine lost soul on a vaguely relevent forum, do this:

When you right click to 'Open With' don't click on Internet Explorer. Instead, click on 'Choose Program...'.
In the the next box highlight Internet Explorer with one click and tick the box at the bottom that says 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
Click OK
