expression engine: preview site

When adding/editing a weblog entry it shows a text based preview of the output, how can I show a preview in the context of the actual site?

Yeah, the preview is crap.

The easiest way around it is to set up a custom 'preview' status that only you can see. Then you can check it in another tab and if it's ok, set the status back to 'open' before the final publish.

And there's this: Live Preview with Coda (and other IDEs) | Blog | ExpressionEngine
