Urgent help required with Mac OS X Apache..
Hi All, Ok I have a rather large problem: I have been given a powermac by a client as he wants it to be a server for his website - we have already done the PHP development, and just need to install the site and test it on the server (it's worth noting at this point, that I HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A MAC BEFORE)... Now he told me that apache, PHP andMySQL is all set up, and has given us a profile with administrator rights. THe problem is, that I can in no way figure out how to turn Personal Web Sharing on! I go into system preferences, then click the sharing icon, then am presented with a list of services that I can change the settings for. Personal Web Sharing is supposed to be here, but it isn't, nor is a bunch of other stuff that should be there.. All it give me is: Remote Login Apple Remote Desktop Remote Apple Events Thats it! Now I'm sure if I can get the web sharing turned of it should all be a breeze, but I'm banging my head agains a brick wall at the moment.. Whe I go to safari and type in "http://127.0.0.1/~username " It says, "Not connected to the Internet" Same deal if I input "localhost" Is there somewhere where I can change a setting that will allow me to turn personal web sharing on? if there isn't then what the hell do I do next (aprt from giving it back to the client and telling him I'm not smart enough to figure it out ) Info on the machine: Powermac G4 Mac OS X Server 10.3.1 (7C107) Kernel Version: Darwin 7.0.0 Boot Volume: Local Computer Name: wwwtest If you need anymore info just say. And if you can help, then thanks in advance! _________________ |
