I've used a hack to make IE sit up and listen to position: fixed. It only works for IE6 mind but should degrade ok in earlier versions.

The logo and navigation should be fixed but will scroll with the rest in IE5.x.

I checked it yesterday in IE5.5 and the main column wasn't 400px but stretched right over to the right hand margin and then some, giving a horizontal scroll bar. I think I've fixed it.
