Can someone tell me how to do these ? do u need a special prog to make them or can u knock em together in photoshop ?

you can knock them together in photshop, but then u need another app to save them as an icon file which i can't remember the name of, but i'm sure you can get something free off www.download.com

yes you can do them in photoshop - but you'll need to save the bitmap as .ico - that is not something photoshop can do - but you can get a plugin... don't remember what it's called - iconfactory or something like that...
but there is another way to do this... head to downloads.com and do a search for icon making software - you'll get a long list to choose from - some of the progs would be 'free trials' but there is also plenty that are absolutely free..!
The app I use is called IconArt by.. ahem... ConWare - it's got a (very) nice interface and dead easy to get into - I prepare my designs in photoshop - and then import them into IconArt - and finally from there save in .ico format.

got it sorted, used IconForge in the end - if you have us bookmarked here will that automatically appear in your browser now or is only for new bookmarkers ?
