DT issues + suggestion

Hi Oli.

I have a suggestion and a couple of problems:

I reckon an admin/community/reception forum would be a good addition - a place to post welcomes, forum related problems and suggestions (like this). and also a place for new member stickies that we can refer them back to...

Also I keep getting a barrage of 'You are subscribed to the thread "blah blah"' threads in my e-mail - I know this was talked about a while back, just wondered if it was a permanent feature? Not too bothered like.

And finally, I am seeing black when I should be seeing blue, on posts I have already read, and was last to contribute too..?

I'm fairly certain I haven't ever subscribed to any threads and yet I regularly (once a week) get about 70 automatic emails from DT. All into Gmail's spam box they go!

There is a tick box in your profile says do not subscribe to threads automatically. This however does not work retrospectively so you still get updates for previous threads you subscribed to.

Which is fine - but, if like me, you use that to navigate threads you have contributed to that screws it up.

I think that is the only way to see your threads - correct me if I'm wrong?

I will look into the subscribed thing, it started happening because I updated a cron setting so it automatically updates certain things like the url posting for new members, signature allowance etc.

A welcome are is a good idea - been meaning to write a introduction/rules post for a while now - leave it with me!

k, the default registration was set to automatically subscribe people to threads they post in and send a weekly notification - Ive turned that off for new members but existing ones will have to turn it off in your settings.

I've been slowly removing my thread subscriptions manually. I have a few thousand.
