Text Transform
Hi All, I have been asked to re-create the logo attached and was wondering how i could achieve the text transformation from small to big in illustrator/photoshop? I have been looking around the net and haven't found anything and am starting to pull my hair out with it! Cheers for any help |

What I would do (in illustrator) get the text then either leave it as it is or, create outlines. Then just mess around in Free Distort (found: Effect/Distort & Transform/Free Distort...) Thats the most flexible way I have found. Americans don't understand sarcasm.

Now with added sarcasm.

Or you can create warped text in Photoshop - at least that way you can maintain the text as text (albeit Photoshop text and not real vector). The warped text option shows up when you have a text layer selected and are using the text tool. I made 100 posts and all I got is this stupid signature.

select the text and then (on a mac) command+shift+o. on a pc click on Type/Create Outlines (half way done the menu). p.s. to transform the text in illustrator you don't need to create outlines (infact it's probably better if you don't because then you can edit the text). I'd recommend using a Commodore 64, to get that lovely pixelated effect on the 'W'. Ask them why they want to reproduce a hideous logo, when it would be half the effort to create a much nicer one. You could probably improve it using MS Paint (actually, come to think of it, that may be what they did use). If you have no choice though, Illustrator is definitely your baby. |
