Wondering if anybody knows of a good site map generator that is simple and doesn't cause google ratings to drop.

why not just use google webmaster tools and make one (xml) yourself? granted it's not an automatic cron job or anything but it should get you started...

have you thought about typing "google webmaster tools + xml site map" (without quotes) into google? I think you might find just what you need.

Is this for a server-side Google site map or a site map for your site?

both - it generates xml (server side) and a html version (client side) .. and a text file too i think ...
