WordPress get_permalink() not "pretty?"

Hey, i'm working on a WP blog with "Pretty" permalinks, using mod_rewrite.

I'm building a custom WP Plugin but i'm having trouble finding a WP function that gives me the 'pretty' URI for a post.

I'm only aware of get_permalink(int id) which on gives the ?p=# ugly URI, instead of www.blog.com/category/post_title

does such a function exist? please help, thanks! -d
