I always thought using % made the layout flexible,but read this:
I have assigned a left and right floating divs with a height of 100%
and bg colour to a centered div with content
this looks OK on a resolution higher than 800X600,but when the screen in resized:
the text div gets resized goes on below the screen level and a scroll is added
but the floating divs fill the height of the screen,but when you scroll down to read the rest of the text-they cease to exist!

is the only solution to my problem the making of a fixed background GIF?
