IE 7 bug?

Think i have a problem with this site in IE 7:
Arthritis & Autoimmunity Research Centre Foundation | University Health

I can't figure-out what is causing this weird blank space at the top of the page. To add more to the confusion... when you refresh a bunch of times it will randomly sort itself-out.

Any ideas?

No, I did not fix the problem. It randomly happens. If you refresh the page a bunch of times the problem will cure itself because it is random in nature.

I'd rather it be 0 refreshes. It's got something to do with those div areas with the tool-tips. I've removed the tool tips... still happens. removed the styles. Still happens. I can't find the source of the problem.

Out of interest, why are you using a table wrapping the layout, and inline styling of elements? I can't see either of those things being necessary... And throwing things like that into the mix will always complicate things.

Cant recreate the problem as I dont run IE7 on my work machine... But thought I would ask the question anyway... Dont know if it will make a difference, in this case.

Maybe default spacing/margins? Have you tried a
Code:
* { margin:0; padding:0; }

That's a right mishmash of css/table layout though

Must try harder

The table is wrapping, because I was having problems with a footer staying at the bottom of 100% height div layouts. I tried the * { margin:0; padding:0; } but no dice. I guess I have to restructure the site.

No, I mean it never happened. I refreshed it 10 times and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

why do you set your divs to 100% and not just let the content expand it? you can have your footer placed under whatever that is.

Designer wanted it to be always at the bottom, even when the content couldn't expand the footer to the bottom.

I'm using a stand-alone version of IE7 for testing purposes. Think I should try seeing it from IE7 on another machine.

I thought the standalone was so you can run IE7 and IE6 side-by-side. I've googled it and installed some versions and that standalone version worked. I'll just try another way then.

That helps so much djeglin. I'm embarrassed to even say how much time I've spent looking for something that simple.

No worries I just remembered reading something about it a while ago. A quick check through my history uncovered it. Glad it was helpful to you.
