Been Edinburgh 2 years ago, it was wank. Full of loads of posh southern wankers. Been to Glasgow 3 years ago to watch United against Celtic, it wasn't bad. whats facebook?

You prefer a shit hole full of shell suited, knife weilding religious bigots? Not to tar the whole of Glasgow with the same brush - there are a lot of nice, friendly people (the vast majority) but the fact that it closes up at 11.00pm due to the amount of violent neds tells it's own story... You must have been up in the posh end of Edinburgh if you were encountering all the loadsa money southerners - get yourself down Leith next time or into the student areas. Stand Free

Fuk off jase! edinburgh is gay! Anyway, what kind of places? You going on an educating holiday or a wrecking session? I recommend checking The modern museum of art - not been for a while but usually quite good The kelvinhall museum - recently done up but I’ve been told its shit, not seen it myself The transport museum – next to the kelvinhall museum, not been there since 1985 tho, but maybe worth a check. Necropolis - old graveyard just east of the George square George square - the main square in Glasgow; good pubs and nice buildings, but full of poncy diks and neds (chavs) on a sunny day tho Check out Glasgow uni in the west end, lovely buildings got a museum in the uni called the huntarian which is weird and worth a check. The west end in general - sound place with practically no neds and very friendly. Good pubs, restaurants, etc Kevingrove Park - park in the west end. Nice to chill in. would bother with other parks in Glasgow. Like jase said Glasgow can be unfriendly. merchant city - good pubs and restaurants, very poncy tho Where abouts you staying? Could give you some good tips where to avoid if I knew what area you'll be in. plenty of good pubs up sauchiehall st way. what your music taste? |

Funny how you can scope out the Glasgow slums on the train in from Edinburgh - watching the locals raking in buckets for something to eat. Nah, in all seriousness Glasgow is a good night out (nae as good as Embra mind you) - just a shame it all ends so early, a bit backward in that respect but you can see the reasons why. 'no mean city' and all that. Stand Free

as for shops check out the barras, wee market just east of merchant city with lots of random shit. bit of a detour from where you'll probably be. Nights out: Arches - Ususally techno/dance. good club Buff club - funk, bit cheesy now but ok. Art school - funk down stairs and mix upstairs - lots of students tho Sub club - optimo on sundays - electro pop mix shit. not been for ages but used to be good. i might check that out myself. Soundhaus - never can tell what going on in this place. weird people! abc - big mix of tunes. can be cheesy but very cheap |
