Star...I was using the /index.php?css=/global.css path from the code but it wouldnt work...great stuff Cheers!

there's a web developer plugin for firefox that lets you view css no matter if its external or inline.

I think you're referring to Firebug. I've recently started using it myself, and I've found it to be quite handy.
