Google Mail is available to everyone these days. You no longer need an invitation from another user. Type "Google Mail" into the search engine of choice and sign up. Gmail has an excellent spam-prevention system as well as being an utter joy to use. |

It would still be worth it - the way Gmails works is so far superior to anything else I've ever used that I'd settle for 1 GB and a 2 MB transfer limit. But I think Gmail is Google's guarantee of goodwill - a company which provides a service like this for free knows how to wins friends and influence people! So they probably won't be slashing it to the bare bones any time soon. |

Really, though, at sizes like that you're better off not using email. Here at work, sometimes people don't know any better and send us 80MB photos that lock up Outlook. Thirding Thunderbird. Or at least Outlook...but Thunderbird is free. |
