My move tool no longer selects objects when I click them. I have to select the layer instead. I can't figure out what I must have messed up. Any one know?

These are the possible things you can try

1) Ctrl + click on the object to select it

2) Uncheck the box of "Auto-selecting layer"

if both things don't work, re-install photoshop
