why do pictures appear lighter than in PS?
hiya guys and gals, I have been wondering about this for bloody ages. When I switched to mac I noticed that my images in photoshop were a lot darker than flash output or safari output of the same images. I was wondering if there was fix for this (I'm dealing with bmp and jpg here) I have a gamma fixer for PNG but not sure why it's doing the same thing on jpegs etc. Attached image: left is in flash, right is photoshop, just a screengrab. Is it flash causing this problem? save to web causing the problem? I've not yet arsed around with the Gamma settings in either program so they both have vanilla profiles. |

I have a similar problem on two seperate PC's. The artwork appears to be lighter for me in photoshop than the saved jpg's. It didn't used to be like that either ... something has changed. I don't know if its the latest version of PS. I don't know if its something to do with embedded colour profiles, but I've just got used to adjusting my work at the final stage to compensate. unconsolidated isoparms
