cross browser compatability

Hello all, right below is a link, you all know the drill, IE displays differently to Firefox - has anyone got any idea why?

http://www.mgpwr.co.uk/newtwo/

I think there should be a whole section of this forum dedicated to cross browser compatability. lol just for my sake it seems

Thanks for all your help!
Mark

ok sorry. it's broken in Firefox so you can take it for granted that will be correct and IE is serving up code soup and making it look half-decent somehow. first tip - have you validated this new page? there's an unclosed html tag right at the bottom for starters which may be throwing out all sorts of things...

best thing to do when using css is design for FIREFOX, not IE.. you have a better chance of getting your site lookin right in other browsers if u do it that way. afetr your happy with the css in firefox, you should then sort out the ie bugs using a separate css sheet..

Fix the lay-out first, then validate to make sure that you didn't generate icky mark-up. There's no point in validating if it's bound to change again - that should be one of the last things you do.

In a previous example you had the footer's bottom aligning with the "Latest News" bottom - has that changed? Stick up a new draft if it has so we can sort this once and for all now.

Thanks

Becase IE is gay. Code it for FF and then fix IE bugs, use 2 stylesheets, 5 lines of jS it what it took for me. I havent got the code but it easy to find, just google it lol.
