permissions error, uploading from mac to a windows server.

This isn't technically my problem so I'm not going to waste my time googling it - but I was just wondering out of interest if any web people here had ever encountered permissions issues uploading from a mac to a windows server?

Got some 3rd-party people editing one of our sites that the client has brought in on the job, and any files they upload can't be accessed via the web - they blame it on the hosting we have the site on, and tell the client as such, rather than try to troubleshoot the problem their end.

shouldn't make a scrap of difference. Once the files are being uploaded, they are just data, independent of the platform. Blaming it on windows / is lazy.

I would hazard a guess that it's something to do with the IP address or such like. I once had a situation where I could upload stuff but it got garbled because of the software. Ask the 3rd party to try dreamweaver or transmit? they are very, very stable.
