Javascript anchor slide effect

Hi Folks

Anyone have a snippet to add a slide effect between anchors?

e.g. user clicks on an anchor and the page slides down to the relative section.

Ideally it would be totaly accessible like this:

<a href="#slide-to-section-a" class="slider">section a</a>

and could be applied to slide up or down - left to right with a few tweaks?

Cheers, Limbo

Not 'totaly accessible' though, as it borks the back button which is an accessibility no no.
