Illustrator blur problem
This is a wierd problem that happens only on my computer at work and i'm confused. When adding a gaussian blur effect to a shape in Illustrator there is only so much blur I can add before it goes square at the edges (see picture) http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3728107 |

Wouldn't a radial gradient give you the same result? Freelance Brighton | Design Agency Brighton | Twitter | Linkedin | Plurk

Radial blur doesn't do the right thing for me really, its too concentrated and doesn't blur enough. Here are my gaussian blur examples http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3739390 ps - is it possible to show images on this forum without uploading to any webspace? |

The problem is probably caused by your document's raster setting. Go to Effect > Document Raster Effects Settings Make sure this is set to 300dpi - and the colour mode is CMYK/RGB (depending on the colour mode you're working in).
