How to set up and install a CMS
Hi, i was just wondering if anyone could shed any light on how to implement a CMS to a website? I'm not too sure how these things work, but would like to use one on a site i am going to design. Can anyone recommend a decent CMS to use? Many Thanks |

Thanks for that Narate, much appreciated. I am creating a site for my dads football team which would need to but update atleast twice a week with features such as: Scores Player Profiles Latest News and much more. I think a nice, basic CMS will help. Cheers |

www.opensourcecms.com choose one here. my personal recommendations would be 'CMSmadesimple' - it does exactly what it says on the tin. Or for something more advanced then 'Drupal'. |

It's free. It works. You'll probably need to add in a few modules, but those are available and easily installed. Documentation is pretty decent and the community is fairly helpful. If it's any consolation, I'm using it for our corporate intranet and, a few minor difficulties aside, it's working fine with, roughly, 600 regular users logging in/out. The execs seem happy, at least. |

you should look at developing some standard web services (not to say that you are not working on that) so people can pull managed/hosted content onto their domain.. do that and I think your onto something. Looks like your in .NET so that should be a piece of piss to do. who wants a .publishpath URL? |

You don't have to use the .publishpath.com. Everything can be run on your own domains. Good ideas on the web services. We haven't gotten there yet. Thanks for the feedback! |
