.swf file wont update

Hi

I am having aproblem with my website. Basically whenever I update the .swf file and then transfer it over using ftp the page wont update no matter how many times its refreshed. The only way it will update is if I clear the private data history or resave the .swf as a new file.

At the minute I am putting in a random strong after the .swf
(i.e embed src="sografik15.swf??3454" ) each time I update the .swf. But surely I shouldnt have to always do this. Ive never came across this problem before.

Also this only occurs with the .swf not the index.htm, it always updates fine. Is there anything I can do to stop the browser constantly dispalying the older version?

I read somewhere that you can use:
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">

does this apply to .swf files as well or just the html file?

thanks, Chris
