I'm redoing my site, and had the idea to display my work as gif animations in the page background, using js to change them when you click the relevant work link.

The quality's crap though, when there are photos or jpegs involved - anyway of doing similar thing but with better quality, less compression?

get the javascript to do the animating rather than using gifs.
