Parkinson stylie...

Can I have some of your views please guys... Need some practicing designer's oppinions on the following questions to include in a information pack I'm making for Foundation students, to prepare, inform, and inspire them to take on graphic design to degree level and above...

Would be great to hear what you've got to say about the following...

1- What motivated you to become a designer?
2- What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a graphic designer?
3- Where do you turn for insperation?
4- What do you look for when employing a graduate?
5- What is the future of graphic design?

thanks

1- my aunt, shes a designer and grew up watching her and trying to imitate her
2- find a mentor, someone you can battle/lookup to/ learn from/ ask questions and pick their brain. never stop pushing yourself
3- honestly i go to airports, malls or someplace that has alot of people. i try to see how the general public reacts to things, cuz arent we all trying to communicate to the general public?
4- i look for the fire inside of them, how well they can communicate the ideas they have, or even how they interact with me and my team
5- kids

Seriously then..

1- Art and design were the only things I truely enjoyed and had a natural talent for at school
2- Be passionate about the medium. Immerse yourself in the culture, never become complacient and enjoy what you do.
3- So long as you keep your eyes open, inspiration will find you.
4- True euthusiam and talent.
5- It will become totally brand orientated and more subliminal.

Thats enough bollocks for one thread me thinks

1- Typography
2- Stop with the grunge and anti design and show you can work a grid
3- Depends on the brief
4- Adaptable styles and willingness to work under/listen to a CD
5- Loads of one person companies because of the overcrowded jobs to grads situtation

(eg: Graham Morley, SUMO Design, Newcastle)
