joomla

Joomla - how do I incorporate this CMS into my own design?

Anybody got any good links or something?

Cheers

Its incredibly easy to skin, as long as you know what you are doing in the first place when it comes to webdesign

BUT - just check out its horrific code output, and try showing your client how to manage new content.

I think in the future they are looking to streamline its content structure and incorporate tableless design. I think in a couple of years it will be worth looking at.

Its easy enough to hand-code it. You don't need the DW plugin at all. Just pull apart an existing template to see how the tags work.

It's pretty easy to learn when you throw yourself in at the deep-end with a project like this mate. I'd never used it when I first 'skinned' (hate that word/phrase) an osCommerce site and knew fuck-all about PHP... Now I know a little bit more than fuck-all.

Good luck

You don't need to know PHP at all, just where to drop in the tags that insert the code, and a few variables if you want areas to not show up when they are empty. You can get all of that quickly by studying 2 or 3 existing templates.
