1. I saw that effect which makes a " 3d button look". I examinated the image so I saw three 1px width lines (dark, very light and light) and they do the effect. You can see a menu example at http://www.calvaryspringfield.org/ne...ion/index.html

So I think there should be a tool to do those lines or are they hand made?

2. What is the most useful and friendly software to make web designs. I use color draw, can you suggest anything better?

www.adobe.com, there's something called Photoshop out there, I've heard it should be good for that

Fireworks implements those kind of effects easily...while the function of Fireworks is a question on many peoples lips, it cannot really be faulted for web graphics.
