Help In Fixing This Website, MADE IN PUBLISHER
Hi guys, I have created a website, http://www.rememberingrusty.com for my next door neighbor just to show how much I owe him when he's still living. I created this in Microsoft Publisher and the problem that I have is that I can't paste the memories to share in the memories page |

are there any options aside from starting from scratch, coz the website is already done and i only want to know how would i be able to paste the memories to share in the memories page. and this is not a commercial website so it doesn't need that much of the technicalities. |

You could try something along these lines: http://www.textism.com/wordcleaner/ Code still won't be what you desire I imagine, but might make it more usable. |

I realy don't understand your problem but as it in a good cause I will offer this snippet on the off chance it works for you. Sometimes where there is an inability to paste Ctrl + V will still work. Place the cursor where you want the text to paste to and press Ctrl + V. Probably not the answer but I hope it helps. |

This is just a simple everyday little website for the users own purpose, he/shes not a web designer nor are they intending to make money from the site so stop howling him/her with code advice etc. he/she just wants to paste the rest of the content in and they are having problems doing so. Can't see why copying and pasting the text won't work mlgeline, if you have problems with the page, just copy and paste the content into one of the other pages - deleting the previous content, then change the titles around and save as the memories page. (DONT OVERWIRTE YOUR NORMAL PAGE, otherwise you will have to start that one again too ;p) |

thanks for all of your replies, the only problem that i have is about the "memories to share page". and if you look into the website and try to add you memories on that page, my plan is to have all the input in "memories to share" page must be pasted in the memories page for all to read. and that's giving me this head ache. again, i appreciate all of your replies, hope that i can do my share someday. |

I'm still not sure what you mean. Are you trying to paste memories into that page or are you wanting other people to visit the website and post their memories on that page from their home computers - much the way you post messages on this website? As an aside, it's a very nice thing you're doing. I hope you can get this problem solved. |

Making it so people can post directly to the website is going to take more than MS Publisher - it'll take a server-side database application. You could probably find, configure and install one or you'll have to program it yourself in PHP and MySQL or something similar. I think it's best for your purposes if you have people email their contributions to you and you put it up for them. If you want to try, you could always look into finding a "guestbook" script or something. |

again i appreciated all of your replies ghetto elvis and pgo, i'm now on the right track in finding a solution. i think i'll just manually post their memories, just to be safe that if somebody tries to mess up. if i only know how to use PHP and MYSQL, i'll use them. but for the mean time, i'll just manually post their memories. thanks that hope all of you will still be here if ever i post again for a new problem. |
