CMS for Intranet

Needs to be easy to use and straightforward so that non-web people can use it comfortably. Otherwise, we're open to suggestion. Looking at Joomla. I've also had a look at the groupware on OpenSourceCMS.com, but it all looks pretty shitty.

Anyone have an suggestions/recommendations?

Doesn't necessarily have to be OSS or free, but that's strongly preferred.

Have to agree with smalbeer there - that's what we've just started to use - it's very nice indeed

Yes, code's a bit of a mess, but it's rather nice (if sort of bloated).

WAsn't there someone here that boldly proclaimed that he would save us all with a CMS system he was developing?

We will! really... err...

Kind of stuck in a catch 22 with needing time to sort it out, but having to do client work so we can eat. We're winding down current work, and passing on enquiries now, so the next couple of month is crunch time. I Want to phase out client work completely anyway, though I'm loath to look for investment.

I dare say some of you will be getting contacted by me to pick your brains in a closed beta jobbie.
