Frame question
I'm designing a site which is sort of a central hub for some other sites. Is a frame my best bet for keeping a strip across the top of the browser window specific to the home site? I'm really not that picky when it comes to frames. I don't like using them, but I'm not an anti-frame cultist either. |

That would stop bookmarks for any pages on the individual sites. Could you not have a header on each site themselves, included via php/javascript? That way people would always have it, regardless of whether they went via the hub or not. |

The sites that are linked to the hub are not my own. For example, myspace. I'm providing a way for our students to log into myspace via our main site, but I'd like the top to retain information that keeps them informed of other things from our site. Myspace is huge for these students, so rather than battling it, we're using it to our advantage. It will do all the community work for us, while keeping people informed of headlines and upcoming events, and providing links back to the site. If the only reason is to not use a frame, I'm not convinced. If the entire idea is retarted, then I'm up for other ideas. Thanks for the input so far. |
